See the glow in the eyes of all the three goats. I always wondered about the glow in the eyes of animals after seeing them in cartoons. Now saw it live through the camera. Rather than the eyes glowing, it seems to be the reflection from the camera flash.

It's called eyeshine.
Many animals have it.
It's due to an iridescent crystalline layer, either intertwined with the retina, or behind the retina of the animal's eye. This layer is called the tapeta lucidum.
Light travels through the pupil of the eye, and reflects off the tapeta, back onto the retina.
It's function is probably to increase visibility in dark environments, or a form of self-defense.
