Onam is complete with onam sadhya the traditional Kerala meal...feast your eyes on how it looks.

The coconut monkey is really amazing. The imagination of the person who made it is appreciable. Who would have thought of using coconut shells for making such good artifacts.coconut monkeyThis is the lady with the lamp..Not the original offcourse. But still it portrays the essence of the "lady with the lamp"

Gods own country!!

The picture below shows the beauty of Kerala as one enters kerala via Train. This picture was taken from Kanayakumari express. It is rather difficult to not like kerala. Everywhere you look you find coconut trees. However, the cost of coconuts remains as high as anywhere else!!! Most of Kerala's economy seems to be driven by tourism.

Kerala has many beaches to see. Some of the beaches near Trivandrum are the kovallam, Shangumugam (shanmugam!) and velli beaches.
The beach above is Kovallam beach..it is generally closed of at 6pm during the high tide season. coast guards will not allow you near the water after closing time. The water is clean compared to Velli, but has black sandy dirt. I am not sure if it was oil sludge...it looked more like natural black sand!
